OUR EDITORIAL APPROACH
Original learning.
Transparent sources.
We write short Italian learning stories from verified facts, with English translations and vocabulary. Writing and translation are assisted by AI. Follow the linked original for the full context.
How we choose sources
Discovery can use GDELT metadata. Publication uses primary announcements or reporting with individually checked permission for commercial adaptation. GDELT does not grant rights to the articles it indexes. We check source terms, exclusions and attribution requirements.
Eligible sources can include Global Voices' own open-licensed reporting and permitted public-sector material. We do not assume that all government material is reusable or automatically rewrite restricted news-agency articles.
Our source hierarchy
First, original announcements with clear reuse rights. Second, independently written reporting of verified facts from original announcements with restricted text rights. Third, independently verified events supported by multiple reliable sources. Access conditions still apply: factual reporting is not permission to scrape, copy headlines or closely paraphrase restricted articles.
A broader source library
Our candidate sources include Global Voices, the European Commission, Eurostat, UK and Canadian open-government material, Singapore open data, NASA, USGS, the Federal Reserve, BLS, NIH, NCCIH, OECD, ECB, World Bank datasets, ADB and individually eligible WHO Bulletin articles. Each item requires its own rights check. GDELT is used for discovery only.
OECD adaptations and translations require the applicable source-specific notices. ECB named-author papers need separate permission. WHO, IMF, UN and company announcements are not blanket-licensed for commercial adaptation. Governments and companies are interested parties, so important disputed claims need independent corroboration.
Reconstructed archives
Historical editions imported later are labelled as reconstructed. Their source dates and verification dates remain distinct. Archive entries must meet the same five-story, bilingual and source-check requirements as current editions.
Advertising and independence
The illustrated advertising spaces currently promote available placements. They are house advertisements, not paid sponsorships. Advertising does not determine our news selection. No advertising network or advertising tracking is active.
Credits and changes
Each story lists its source, publication date, rights policy, licence and verification date. Texts are simplified, translated and adapted for language learning. Eligible European Commission / Eurostat source material is credited under CC BY 4.0, subject to the Commission reuse policy. No endorsement is implied.
Our publishing checks
Each edition must have five complete bilingual stories, vocabulary and source records. If eligible recent stories cannot be verified, the previous edition stays available. Structural checks supplement factual and rights review.
Illustrations
The landmark artwork was generated with AI for this journal. It depicts imaginative views, not news events. Publisher photographs and logos are not reused. AI generation does not guarantee exclusive rights or freedom from every third-party claim.
